Corporate Retreats

A conference room set with tables in a U-shape, white chair covers, bottled water and a flip chart at the front.

Most off-sites fail for the same reason: they are not far enough away. People drive twenty minutes, sit in a different room, and answer the same emails. Crossing Lake Victoria fixes that, physically.

Why the island, specifically

The crossing does something a venue booking cannot. It marks a boundary, with the mainland visibly over there, and it gives the retreat a beginning. Teams arrive already talking to each other, because they have just done something together.

It also removes the option of leaving early, which is why retreats on the mainland underperform.

What we provide

How to shape the days

Sessions work better here short. The mistake is importing a mainland agenda — eight hours in a room — to a place whose whole value is what happens outside it. Two focused sessions a day, with the afternoon left open, gets more out of a team than four sessions does.

Put the shared activity early. A boat trip on the first afternoon changes the tone of every conversation afterwards. Quad biking suits a group with energy to burn; beach football needs nothing but sand.

Retreat or conference?

If what you need is the room, the projector and the catering, the conferences page is the practical one. This page is for when the point is the team, not the agenda.

Planning

The crossing is the first thing to plan, not the last. Tell us the group size, your dates and the shape of the days you have in mind, and we will tell you what is possible.

Bring the team to the island

Send us the dates, the numbers and what you have in mind. We will come back to you.
